class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Access to the asylum procedure<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53e1d16 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53e1d16\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Official data of the Greek authorities refer to <\/span><b>25,799 arrivals of undocumented persons in the first half of 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Most RIS registrations took place in RIC Malakasa and Diavata.<\/span><\/p><p><b>The Asylum Service and the RIS, as responsible authorities for receiving asylum claims, registered a total of 27,425 asylum seekers during the first half of 2025.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>main nationalities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of asylum seekers registered in the first six months of the year were as follows:<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-40521ee elementor-widget elementor-widget-html\" data-id=\"40521ee\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"html.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"flourish-embed flourish-chart\" data-src=\"visualisation\/25135140\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><noscript><img src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/visualisation\/25135140\/thumbnail\" width=\"100%\" alt=\"chart visualization\" \/><\/noscript><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-992316a elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-mobile__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"992316a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main countries of origin of asylum seekers include Syria and Afghanistan. The Greek government has re-designated T\u00fcrkiye as a \u201csafe third country\u201d (STC) for the nationals of those countries, after the Plenary of the Council of State <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/rsaegean.org\/en\/council-of-state-annuls-the-designation-of-turkey-as-a-safe-third-country\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">annulled<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the previous designation due to inadequate reasoning. Main countries of origin include Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, designated as \u201csafe countries of origin\u201d (SCO) under a separate national list.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e32e86b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e32e86b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Subsequent applications<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1668d3b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1668d3b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subsequent asylum applications are lodged at the RAO and AAU of the Asylum Service. The figures supplied by the Ministry of Migration and Asylum in response to parliamentary questions refer to a total of 3,574 subsequent asylum claims lodged in the first half of 2025 following a final decision on the initial claim. Since 2022, these claims are subject to a fee of 100 \u20ac per person according to Greek legislation. No other EU Member State has enacted such a rule. Official statistics of the Greek authorities confirm for yet another year that <\/span><b>the majority of people applying for asylum in the country are refugees and are entitled to protection in Greece<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cef0745 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cef0745\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div
