The first issue of the Greek Asylum Case Law Report published today is a joint initiative of the Greek Council for Refugees (GCR), HIAS Greece and Refugee Support Aegean (RSA), organisations providing legal support and representation to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. The note compiles extracts of decisions of Administrative Courts, the Independent Appeals Committees and the Asylum Service in the area international protection selected from the casework of the above organisations.<\/p>

The present issue of the Greek Asylum Case Law Report contains excerpts from 127 decisions issued in 2020-2021 by Administrative Courts, the Independent Appeals Committees and the Asylum Service relating to topics such as the interpretation of the \u201csafe third country\u201d concept, evidence assessment and refugee status determination, procedural safeguards in the asylum procedure, the workings of administrative appeals and of judicial protection of asylum seekers, the rights of beneficiaries of international protection, as well as immigration detention.<\/p>

Through the Greek Asylum Case Law Report, our organisations seek to contribute to filling important gaps in the availability of Greek case law on asylum and to informing the legal and broader community of jurisprudential developments in the field.<\/p>
