In an important intervention in the case<\/span><\/a> of \u201cRefugee Support Aegean\u201d (RSA)\u2019s application to the NGO Registry, the Ombudsman calls the administration to re-examine the rejection of registration on the ground that it contravenes the \u201cacquis of international, EU and national law<\/i>\u201d.<\/p>

The Deputy Ombudsman addresses the Ministry of Migration and Asylum and \u201cdeems that <\/i>the decision to reject the registration of a civil society organisation on the NGO Registry of your Ministry on account of the development of activity in support of persons under deportation and, due to \u2013 according to your assessment \u2013 contravention of Greek legislation, infringes the aforementioned acquis of international, EU and national law<\/i><\/b>\u201d. The Independent Authority adds: \u201cWe therefore urge you, honourable Special Secretary, to re-examine in light of our above observations your decision under no. 341617\/25.10.21, by which you rejected the application by civil society organisation \u201cRefugee Support Aegean\u201d of 11.06.2020 for registration on the NGO Registry of your Ministry<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>

Furthermore, RSA promptly provided in writing the necessary clarifications requested by the Ministry on Friday 10 December 2021 and awaits the decision of the competent Special Secretary for Stakeholder Coordination on its re-examination request. RSA expects the withdrawal of the negative decision and its registration on the NGO Registry in line with international, EU and national law.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
